Kleev was built around a simple idea: your financial life is yours. This page explains plainly what we do with your data, what leaves your browser, and what we never touch.

Your CSV file never leaves your browser
When you drag a bank statement into Kleev, the file itself stays on your device. We parse it locally, right there in your browser, to read out the individual transaction rows.
The raw file is never uploaded to our servers, never stored, and never sent anywhere. What persists is the parsed data, not the document you started with.
We use AI, so your transaction data is processed off-device
To do the useful work (categorising transactions, spotting transfers between your own accounts, recognising your bank's statement format, and answering questions in chat), Kleev sends the relevant transaction details to our AI provider, Anthropic. This includes descriptions, dates, amounts, and account names, sent as they appear, not anonymised or scrubbed.
We want to be straightforward about this: although the file stays on your device, the information inside it is processed by a third-party AI service to power these features. Our provider states it does not retain this data to train its models, but the data does transit and is processed on their infrastructure. If you'd rather not, you can simply not use the AI-powered features.
Your data is yours alone
Every piece of data you save is isolated to your account. Access is enforced on our servers, on every single request, against a verified sign-in. This isn't a rule that lives in your browser and could be sidestepped; it's checked server-side, so no one can craft a request to read another person's information.
When your data is sent to the AI provider, that is your data powering your features, never pooled with, or exposed to, other users. Your data working for you, and your data being walled off from everyone else, are both true at the same time.
We never connect to your bank
Kleev does not link to your bank. We never ask for banking logins, passwords, or any credentials that would let us, or anyone, access your accounts directly.
The only way data enters Kleev is the statement file you choose to bring in. There is no live connection to your financial institution, by design.
Protected in transit and at rest
Data moving between your browser and our servers is encrypted in transit. Once stored, it sits behind authenticated, per-user access with our cloud provider, protected at rest.
In short: encrypted on the way, and locked to your account once it arrives.
Delete everything, yourself, at any time
If you decide to leave, you can permanently delete your account and all of your data directly from within Kleev. No email to support, no waiting period, no hoops.
When you delete, it's gone.
